STEPHANIE WRIGHT grew up designing and working with her mother, a skilled and self taught seamstress and textile guru, on garments and costumes. Although she studied dance as her main medium her love for fashion manifested early on. Stephanie went on to study dance in college earning a BFA from Southern Methodist University and used winters to study at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance in NYC. After a brief stint post college in NYC Stephanie returned to her native Texas to work as a Pilates instructor. It is ultimately her love of movement, need for garments that can be worn elegantly and efficiently in the heat of her homeland, and her desire to respectfully nod to her matriarchal figures that led her to create MISTER WRIGHT.
